Hey guys........
I'm not sure what to do here. I had some dude that used to the 700R4 swaps. I have a problem with the mount. The transmission bolted up just fine. Its a tight fit, but its all in. However, the mount has an issue. The transmission support bracket will not bolt the the 700R4, however I need it to mount to the cross member as well or else it wont fit. Does anyone know of a fabricated piece I can buy? Without having to change the cross member out?

Thanks guys,
-Louis

Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary model. Original L82 engine, 700r4 trans, edelbrock intake, thorly headers, rack&pinion steering, mono rear and front spring, MSD 6A box
Cut the bracket on the side edges that extend towards the rear where it will slip back then match up the trans mount and drill new holes (Mine were off center) then bolt in place. This worked on my 78, like a charm. Hope this helps.

When I put a 700 R4 in my 80' I just made a Braket that joined the Stock X member to the the Mount on the 700. If You don't want to do this Keisler now offers Automatics as well as Tremec 5-6 Speeds manuals. So this would also mean that they probably have a Solution for the x member as well. What Dip Stick Tube are You Useing? When I did mine the 82' tube was still avalable so I used it. I have never seen what GM did to Put the 700 in an 82'

I put one in my 76 with a 700r4 and glad I did. It bolted right up with no modification or hassle
It is a great crossmember that will allow you to use any size exhaust pipe
