Hello all,
This past weekend I finially finished all of my suspension work. I replaced all of the bushings, etc. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a shop that has experience with corvettes to perform a four wheel alignment? I live near the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Either a national chain or a local store.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Although I'm not from Wisconsin, my choice of repair shops have always been the small shops for the work that I couldn't handle. Such as wheel alignments & frame work.
The larger chain stores are out to make money anyway they can. Follow my point.
Pick a couple places,(stay away from place's that look like a junkyard) drop in and ask them questions and go with the shop you feel comfortable with.
Thats my .02 cents
Good Luck, Sarge

Hi Mike,
I'm in the Milwaukee area as well and although I've had limited contact with the following shops I'll throw it out there for you to consider.
Kusch Service on 58th and North is one of those service shops that have been around forever. They work on classics on a limited basis (PO used them quite a bit and really liked them) and have excellent knowledge of these cars because the same guys that worked on them when they were new are still there! I took my '63 T-bird to them last year and they diagnosed my power steering gearbox problem with one quick look. I thought the entire box would have to be rebuilt. Saved me about $700. You'd have to check with them on whether they have the 4 wheel alignment equipment. The downside; they usually have a month long waiting list since they only repair one classic at a time. HOWEVER, for an alignment they might treat you like a non-classic customer. 414-771-9280
I've had pretty good luck with the Richlonns service centers (S 76th St & S hwy 100). Talk to them both though, they are now under seperate ownership. Make it clear to them that you will bring the car in when they have there best alignment guy available and ask them if they have much experience with old vettes.
I've also heard several local C3'rs mention a shop on the west side of hwy 100 just south of Layton avenue as a place to go, but I know nothing about them.
Please don't take any of these shops as a full endorsement. Its only meant to be one step better than blindly picking a shop out of the phone book. Let me know where you end up and how it went.
