I installed the Transgo kit for my THM350C tranny (C is for lockup converter, used on '81s) and had the transmission rebuilt. The shift is MUCH faster and firmer. Before all this, it was pretty slow and mushy. Of course, I can't say how much was due to the shift kit and how much was due to the rebuild. One other thing... everyone around here gave me the advise that, if I wanted a more spirited transmission, I should take out the modulator valve, remove the spring behind it, then reinstall it. I believe the claim is that it will upshift a little later and more firmly. I haven't done it yet. If interested, the modulator valve is at the tail-end of the tranny, I believe on the passenger side, and has a hard steel vacuum line coming into it from the intake manifold. The steel line connects to the modulator valve with a very short length of rubber tubing.

Well now...I ain't no ekspurt, but I have been known to do one er two of these "Shiftin Kits"...I prefer the products from Superior. Way mo easier to install, and...they work! Check out THIS THREAD from earlier...

I installed a B&M shift kit in my '77 when I was running the TH350 a few years ago. I thought it was pretty sweet. Really firmed up the shifts and it was easy to get it to chirp the tires. Pretty easy to install too.

Would there be a disadvantage to using this one, (Below), on the street? That, along with the 2200 stall TC is my next adventure.
A high performance version of this 350 kit is offered (K350-HP) for street rods and racing only. The high performance valve body kit allows manual low up shifting at any speed, as well as automatic, plus giving super positive performance.
