I am working on putting a manual transmission into a auto frame, and I want to use the original linkage clutch.  I have the braket for the frame that the z-bar connects too.  Does anyone have an idea on how to locate the location of this braket?  Thanks

Matt

Matt-

Have you bought an assembly manual for your '73? It would be a good investment to make right now.
Good luck on your project.......if you lived closer I would come help you out.

I've got a 79 4speed if you want to come by and take some measurements. Have it up on the hoist right now. Near Peotone about 5 miles south of I80.   Mike mkapp787938623.5199884259

Look at where the piviot is on the engine.  Go stright over to the frame so the piviot bar (z bar) is dead straight and level.  That where the mount goes.

Your best bet is to do what Mike has suggested, and measure another car.
(The assy man. doesn't give a specific location for the bracket, because it was welded on at the "frame factory", and not the assy line. )
Check out a car with a 4spd, and you should be good to go.
