I recently had my clutch and all related parts replaced using HD parts. I have noticed that sometimes when starting in 1st or in reverse I get a very noticeable vibration in the pedal. This does not happen all the time. I have a friend (who I value his mechanical knowledge) who claims this is normal for a HD clutch, especially because of the material being used today in making these parts. Unfortunately, I don't agree with him on this. I have own, and driven a number of "muscle cars" since the 60's and I have never felt anything like the vibration I'm getting. Any suggestions or idea's ? I am planning to return the car to the shop where the work was done.         & nbsp;   Thanks,          ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;        Cookie

If they did not resurface the flywheel when they changed all the parts. that is most likely the culprit.

If it only does this on take-off, it's not going to be a balance problem. I think what you are describing is clutch "chatter", and it can be "normal" for a while, until the clutch disc gets glazed a wee bit. Depending on the type of friction material the disc is made of, and how much you drive it, it could go away fairly quick, or it may take a while.
I would assume you had the flywheel resurfaced when the clutch was installed, but if not, it could very well be the source of the chatter. Some shops will only use a rol-lock disc with a die-grinder to "resurface" the flywheel, but still charge you for a machining job. If in fact the flywheel was sent to a machine shop to be surfaced, and the flywheel/clutch assy. was clean when it was installed, then the problem is the disc material, and it will go away on its own.
