Going to replace clutch/presure plate. Does anyone know the size of 1981 Corvette 350, 190 HP? Parts store said its 10 1/2" or 11" . Teeth on the spline can be 10 or more. Like to get the set before I take it down. Thanks Roxy

Roxy,
The clutch for your '81 should be a 11" with a spline of 1-1/8 diameter and 26 teeth. That is what mine is with the Borg-Warner/Richmond Super T-10 transmission.
BTW- I highly recommend using a CenterForce Dual Friction clutch. It has a nice light pedal and has excellent holding. 90% over stock units.

Hope this helps!

Thanks again,
Roaxy

Patricia, that would be the amount of teeth on the outer edge of the flywheel (where the starter engages). 168 tooth flywheel =14" diameter flywheel, and 153 tooth = 12.75" diameter flywheel.
You can run a 11",11.58" clutch on a 14" flywheel, and on a 12.75" flywheel you can run a 10.4" or 11" clutch. We where talking about the # of splines on the input shaft of the transmission. That is where the clutch disc slips over. Hope the clarifies things a little.

Where I've gotten a little confused is my old invoice for my flywheel listed 168 tooth, 11" flywheel. Did they really mean it was a 168 tooth (14" diameter) and would take an 11" clutch?? I"m about to order a McLeod wheel that's also 168 tooth but the tech guy suggested his 12" clutch to go with it. Is that just rounding up an actual 11.58" clutch?
This is confusing! Thanks, Patricia

Patricia,
I would stick with a 11" clutch. That's plenty big enough. If you are looking for more holding power, then you can look into a CenterForce Dual Friction clutch. They are a little pricey ($300). I have one in my car and am more than happy with it.
