Clutch spring

Does anyone know what the clutch spring should be hooked onto, I noticed that mine is hooked around my motor mount, that can't be the right place for it.

on my 69 it is in a hole on the firewall reinforcement plate for the steering shaft..

straight left of the steering shaft directly below clutch rod

intersect these lines and you have it
