I've heard some clicking noise lately as I drive very slowly, so I'm going to check for bad u-joints but, I'm not sure that's the culprit. I've heard the posi clutches make a noise also. So, I'm going to change that lube oil first, for sure, then check the u-joints. Trouble is I can't find the lube oil specs in any of my manuals, I guess I'm not digging deep enough. Can I get some help from my corvette friends, like how much gear oil and how much posi clutch oil, etc.?
Thanks in advance,
terntes

Get GM posi fluid from your Chevy dealer. Suck out the old stuff, put the posi fluid in first, then the gear lube (90 weight I think) till it starts to run out of fill hole, put plug back in. Then go out and to some figure 8's to work in the posi fluid.

Hey terntes,

I changed mine back in May and had great results.
As I remember I pumped it out twice to clear out any debris.
As I remember, I did figure 8's too but was advised that some highway driving would have been better for it.
Take a look at "Differential Saved???" in C3 Driveline Components & good luck with it!

Hey terntes,
Check in the Mid America catalogue.
They list it as "GM Positraction Additive" at $9.99 per 4 Oz. Bottle.
I got mine at a local Corvettes only place and paid a bit more than that, but it was cash & carry.
I'd say to definitely use this additive! Don't leave it out.
