I wanted to change out my 3.08 for something better, two years ago, I was considering all types of options, then when I was looking around the Bloomington gold swap meet, I came across a 1973 big block corvette Rear Diff, complete with the cover and axle stubs. I checked it over and found no issues with it. It had hardly any play in and out on the axles. It was a 3.55 set up and bought it for $300. I swapped it out with my old set up and luckly it works great. I also noticed it has beefier parts inside and the u-joint caps were stronger. You might be able to look at swap meets or ebay for a used rear in good shape and just swap them out and seel your old one for nearly the same cost as the one you bought.Tumarr38758.8706481481

Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.

When you change the diff lube, don't forget the friction modifier additive for the posi.

I got all my fluids ready, and lined up. I'm also going to Pamona on March 5th. I'm saving up... and making my list, so far I ahve $1,400 to play with at pamona. I need bumpers, bumper retainers, front lower spoiler (AIR DAM), and a few other things. But I'm gonna see if I can hook up with a good 3.55, or 3.36
