I am installing a new 700R4. I had my drive shaft shortened and everthing goes togather as it should. The problem is the U - Joint in the front is hitting the passenger side tub. What can I do about this? Also, does anyone know where the brake wiring is in the fron of the car. I have to tap in to the line for my torque converter?
Thanks

first the transmission isnt centered.. loosen up the trans mount and both motor mounts and center it.. then retighten everything
as for brake.. on the proportioning valve.. directly below the master cylinder
I think you mean using the brake light switch to send a signal for the torque converter lock up relay. It is the plunger switch behind the brake petal. look up under your dash board at the petals and you will see the black plunger that is tripped when the brake is depressed. That will turn on your brake lights and it is also used to deactivate the lock up for the transmission in a 700r4 swap. Are you using a bowtie overdrives kit? they have detailed instructions on how to set this up.
Yes, I also had to loosen my motor mounts and trans mounts and muscle the trans back to the center of the tunnel when I did my trans swap. Pain in the butt, hope your arms and back are healthy.Tumarr 38395.9972453704
