Fitting a C5 automatic shifter to a C3

Vette(s): 1975 convertible,with the hard top and power streering.it a 350 L48 with auto trans. the color is light blue.
Can a automatic shifter for a C5 be fitted to work in a C3.

Anything's possible, but....why?
I doubt it would be an easy install. The two shifters mount totally different. Iirc, the shift cables are on opposite ends, too. Imma thinking also that the C5 shifter would prolly stick way up out of the console.

I'm looking for something different ...don't like the factory shifter.
