ive got the chance of buying a muncie 4 speed box with chevy bel housing fitted , was connected to a SBC engine, 

Just wondering what i would need on top of this to convert my !979 from auto to manual, 

is there anyone thats done this any links to previous threads appreciated, thanks , brian

Greetings, The biggest need will be if the steering column will accept pedals. If not, it will have to be changed.

Clutch assy & flywheel(may require a different starter), pilot bushing/bearing, shifter w/linkages, clutch "Z" bar that goes from the frame to the engine, along with the associated linkages for it, and ball mounts for frame and engine side, output yoke, speedo cable adaptor, obviously the clutch pedal assembly as mentioned. You'll also need the correct fork & throwout bearing set up.  Then you'll need the correct trans mount bracket for the crossmember. Before going too far into the deal, you should first check to see if your frame has the bracket to accept the Z bar pivot ball. If it does NOT, then the whole idea is moot, unless you find an aftermarket hydraulic clutch master/slave set up that will work for your application. 🙂
