Replacing flywheel/clutch assy on a 350 260 hp street / cross country driven 78 vette. Getting a slight chatter when engaging in low/ reverse. No oil leak from rear main. Rarely use low gear. Used original flywheel off L-82 I pulled out and replaced with a GM crate. Asking for input on a quality clutch/pp and flywheel for this beast. Thanks

Luk/Sachs are decent for street driven cars. I believe Luk and Sachs are the same company. You'll want a Multi finger not a 3 finger diaphragm pressure plate.
Centerforce clutches good but they are pretty stiff for the street. I had one behind the old 330hp Gen II small block in my vette.
You really don't need a lot of clutch behind that monster engine you have.

Luk has been a GM OEM supplier since the late '80's. I have a "LS7" clutch behind my "LS6" Gen III engine. That was made by Luk.
That's my .02 cents

Your .02 cents are worth dollars. My stock tach redlines at 5500 and their have been times I've pushed 3000. Mostly getting out of the driveway before wife finds me another project...... I think the Luk will hold up to my need for speed. Thanks for reply and wondering if your conversion is FMC yet...

I'm wid Darryl.....LUK all the way. Check with your local Pep Boys....they carry LUK clutch kits. Should be able to get a kit w/flywheel, also.

Always glad to help when I can.

The conversion is 99% FMC. Logged on 1500 miles so far. Just a couple small things to work out. Achieved 23.4 mpg going to Eboland. 70 mph to xxx mph.

Can you get a ticket for going xxx? I'm sure your wife would know! I'm sure car produces a sweet sound at xxx speed.. Glad it's working out so well after all the thought and time you put n it.
