Nice call Scott, Tux had the same problem a year ago and I changed the fluid and made the adds as you prescribed above. Sooo Many things ta look for with each noise. Sure is nice to have budz lookin out fer each udder....

Just for curiosity, have a look at your diff mount bushing that attaches it the cross member - if the bushing is worn out, you will get a clunk off the line....

Glad the suggestion worked out. Mine was doing the same thing when I first purchased it. It truly is a "clunk" sound that is generated. Your initial description of the sound reminded me of my problem. That's what keeps this site the best. Everyone contibutes and we all have better cars for it.

Just added info. After servicing the rearend I was told to find a parking lot, drive in a tight circle to the left then a tight circle to right to mix the fluid in the rear end ?
