Any thoughts on using a synthetic with a new Posi carbon fiber disc-pack (loaded unit)? They (EATON) recommend the GM additive and the GM mineral lube. How about sythetic Mobil 1, Lucas, or Royal Purple (75-90wt)? How about a break-in with mineral lube/plus additive...then changing over to sythetic?

On a Firebird site I learned that the GM posi-additive is actually re-labeled (and significantly marked up) Chevron additive.  The fellow who posted that works in an OEM shop that builds drivetrain components for GM.  So save some money and support your local auto parts store instead of paying top dollar at the "stealership".
