Vette(s): 1975 Stingray Nomad Wagon, with Daytona front, custom hood scoop, dual side vents; 420HP 350; Doug Nash 5 speed; 1980 rear end W/4:11 gears; Cherry Red metallic paint.
My first Vette , actually my first modified car, is being shipped to me as I write this. One of the things that bothers me is that he had a Doug Nash 5 speed installed (all professional, new cluch, throw out bearing, balanced custom drive shaft, ect...), which over a decade has not been used. He ran it and said everything was fine on it, but what i want to know is there any special care i should give it, different gear oil, ect? Has anybody had a manual trans that sat more than it was driven and then started using it? Any suggestions? Thanks for helping a newbie to the world of Vettes! d.

I would put fresh lube in it and rotate everything to make sure the lube if in everywhere it should be. This could be just driving very easy for the first couple of blocks. No other concerns.
