Hello, I am changing to 17" rims and would like to ask you guys if you can give me any recommendations for a tire brand you like. I need 255/50/r17's all around. My driving is for street and a little bit of fun on the driving track. I dont need drag slicks or superduper autocross tires. I need them to be under $200 each and only care about wet and dry pavement..no snow or ice. I was looking at BF goodrich G-force T/A kdws. That one looks good. Sams club has them for 133.28 each. If you got a better suggestion I'm all ears. Thanks. Its for my 79 that used to have 255/60/15

I like to use tirerack.com. They have a database of installers probably in your area, just plug in your address and it will pull up the info. If you order the tires they can have them drop shipped right to one of the installers then all you need to do is show up with your rims and they will mount and balance them. They offer great pricing.
I like the Bridgestone/Firestone S-03 Pole Positions. I run them on mine and they give great traction in dry and wet. I think they just changed some of their warranty policy as well. I think they give you a 30-day trial period, like it or they give you your money back and a three year replacement guarantee. I'm not sure if that is on all their tires, but i know its on their new tire they just cam out for SUV's running 17 to 22" wheels that were inspired by this tires performance and tread pattern. I just saw a press release on this somewhere, just don't remember where.
Remember performance tires where quicker then a street performane tire, but with a budget of 200 per corner your shopping options are wide open.
YOu will also want to make sure you looke at various tire brands as some tires measure shorter then other brands of the same size. I would try to stick as close to your current tires overall diameter.
