Hello everyone. Haven't been on C3VR lately..bust with work. Done some things to the Vette though...and my question is this. I plan on dropping a ZZ383 crate motor into the Red Dragon. GM advertises 425HP with 449 ft/lbs Torque. I know the rear diff. on the C3 is a lim-fac when upgrading to a higher performance motor. Anyone see any issues with keeping the stock rear with that much muscle??
Thanks.
Thanks.

Factory Corvettes made as much as 435 HP and held up OK. Of course, the harder you abuse it the shorter it's life, but I know people who have given theirs a lot of abuse and they are still working.

Yeah...your half-shafts will likely give up da ghost long before the diff will. The actual diff is pretty bullet proof, in most cases, unless there is a problem with it to start with.
