What do you mean by "breakaway point on the stock clutches is rather on the stiff side"? I'm not familiar with the internal workings of posi-traction. |headscratch|

Geo,
Thanks for checking that out...
The stuff i have is a real GM part, direct from the local UK GM (Vauxhall) dealers. It's only 50 ml, (about 2 oz), so it looks like i may need a couple more bottles. It's only a couple of pounds a bottle anyway..
Thanks for the info....

Rick I am refering to the point where the axles can turn independently of each other . As when you drive around corners etc. That tends to be a bit tough on rear tires , and not a really desireable characteristic in the wet etc.

The way it was explained to me when I totally overhauled the rear suspension was to put in one bottle, drive the car in tight circles and listen to the rear end. If it makes a chirp/snap sort of a noise, then add half of the second bottle. I've got 1 3.08 which was removed from the car for new seals and inspection / rebuilding. It didn't need anything other than some cleanup and new seals (whew as I blew the budget on other stuff!). Car has 56k miles on it. I added the first bottle of posi-additive from GM and haven't needed to add any more. I've read feedback from folks on other boards that the aftermarket additives do not have quite the same characteristics as the GM additive and hence require More additive for the same effect. My understanding is that you want to maximize the rear end oil, not the additive. ;) ~Juliet

Thanks Juliet,
The stuff i have is a GM product, only it's made by GM of europe/UK. That means it would be intended to be used in the european "versions" of GM cars, like Vauxhalls and Opels. But I would imagine it is exactly the same as the product you guys could buy in the states.
I've just got to get around to putting it in now!
