Topic: Rear Ratio & repair quote question
in Forum: C3 Driveline Components
I just found out the exact quote and whats being done..
Rebuild the pumpkin going to a 3:23 gear set
All new U joints
All new seals and bearings
New mono leaf
New half shafts
New rotors
cosmetic detail, etc etc
out the door at 2500.00 on the high side..
Why do you need new half shafts & if this includes bearings in the trailing arms...then it's a fair price. Make sure the rotors are balanced on the trailing arms are you'll have break problems down the road.

I performed the removal and installation of my rear suspension. I consulted w/Ed at Bair's Corvettes. They sent me custom boxes for each part and I sent them UPS.
When the trailing arms and the differential arrived at their facility they did a complete inspection on each part to determine if it was rebuildable. Ed told me what parts I needed to purchase for them to do the work. The new parts were side yokes and rotors. They rebuilt both trailing arms and mathced the rotors to them. The differntial and the trailing arms looked like they belonged on a show car. I bought the rear spring also.
The total cost of the shipping, rebuilding and new parts was $1,700.00. I believe that the price range you were given is reasonable. Either way you will have peace of mind when you are through.
