Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
I'm thinking of changing out my rear spring on my 82CE.The car is original right down to the paint and only has 38,000 miles.I figure due to age it might be a good time to change. The problem I'm having is my car came with the Gymkhana option.Due to the cars original condition do you think it will hurt the cars value if I get one of those fiberglass springs.I like the idea of the smoother ride, less weight, and the longivety of the spring. What are your thoughts and experience if you have one of these springs?

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

I agree!  Swap out for what you want, but save all of the original parts, and if someone does it for you make sure they know that you want ALL of the parts back.

I put the 330# VB&P fiber spring in my 79 and have loved it ever since.  Just remember you're going to have to change the shocks as well as the spring to match the different damping rate on the spring.

Check with VB&P (Vette Brakes & Products - Florida company). I seem to remember they have a set up that should match the Gymkhana suspension if you like the performance.

I agree,  keep your original spring. I opted for a 330# composite from Van Steel coupled with Koni shocks on the sport setting.Did this last week and am real happy with it.

The adjustment bolts on my spring were quite long.  I don't think there's a ride height issue at all.  My may be set a little higher than standard right now, but I'm happy with it.

No you shouldn't have any ride hieght issues w/their springs. I sell them as well. The only time you will have an issue is if you get the spring w/out the spring bolt kit and you use your stock bolts. The bolts supplied in the kits w/the spring are longer than stock bolts. I offer free shipping to all forum members as well.
