My problem was that when attempting to go in reverse, I could move a few feet, then the rear wheel would lock up. I had already done a complete brake job so I knew it couldn't be any of those components. What I didn't inspect was the parking brake cable. I mean, how many times does the parking brake cable misbehave? My problem was that the 8 inch, or so, return spring that is at the lever that actuates the parking brake had rusted through in several spots and all I had was a lot of round spring pieces hanging on the parking brake cable. That was not allowing the cable to return the brake shoes to return to their neutral position. Therefore, they bound up against the parking brake drum locking up the wheel. After replacing the parking brake cable I have no problem.
Thanks for sharing that info Calvin! 🙂
