John, I just had the rad out of mine and replaced it. I took it out a piece at a time, first the a/c condenser, then the radiator and then the shround and then the support. Upon reflecting on this, it's not the way to do it. I put the shround in first, then put the radiator in the support and installed them together, with the trans cooler hoses on the rad before it went in.  Much easier. My other point is the radiator support. We all know that they are prone to rust from the inside out. My car is a x So. Ca. car, so the external appearance of it looked good. But as I was sandin it, and turnin it around I could here something in the bottom of it. The problem I have heard is that they rust from the inside out. Sooo....I took my step bit and drilled a dime size hole in one end. Turned the support this way and that way and sure enough some rust particles came out. The next step was to take some small pebbles and put them inside of the support and shake the living' sh**t out of it, with a plug in the hole I drilled. I got a lot of surface rust out of it. Then, drilled 2 more holes in it, and filled it with expanding foam, got some plastic plugs (the kind used on lines and fittings when you by them), used 3m weather strip adhesive to glue them in and then painted it. It may not be a perfect fix, but the support has survived 26 years so far, and will most likely last another 26 years.
