I'm changing the half shaft U Joints and wonder if I can change the differentail seals without removing the differential?

Also can I change the drive shaft differential seal without removing the differential?

Drive shaft seal can be changed on the car but not the half shafts. You need to get inside the housing to remove the side yokes.
Just make sure you put the nut back on the front yoke exactly as it was to prevent any change in the bearing specs. Lot of guys use an impact wrench on that nut but I prefer a big breaker and a holding device on the yoke to prevent it from moving. It's TIGHT!
Made the holding device from a piece of angle iron with 2 holes to correspond to the holes on one side of the yoke and a notch for the extension and socket to fit past. I may have some pictures of it somewhere, gotta look, tho.
