In first and 3rd, the shifter is touching the forward portion of the console. To the point that getting it to fully engage is a problem. It's a factory shifter, I set it up while the body was off, adjusted it by the book. Is there a further adjustment to position it back a bit further? I have the correct frame mount, so it's basically "fixed". The only thing I can think of is to place shims under the forward portion of the mount to rotate it back.
Anybody else ever run into this before? |headscratch|

You could ajust all of your rods and equal length, and move the shifter positon. If they are not done equally, the shifter won't operate properly, and cold hang up.

Would that require bypassing the line up slot? Not sure if I'm asking this right, shifter in neutral, trans in neutral, the slot that we put the guage in then adjust the rods. Is that just a starting point? I can get it into gear, but it bumps the console when fully engaged. |headscratch|

Yes, start with the slot for normal alignment, then move the rods equally. The slot won't be lined up with the center of the shifter. But all three links will line up. It's a bit tricky, but it works.

Dave,

Stupid question, but did you replace all the bushings before you adjusted the shifter? Worn bushings creates a lot of slop in the shifter.

The shifter is in really good shape. The pattern is actually tighter than the hurst that was in it before.
I actually like it better than the super shifter.

OK! we did the adjustment like you said. I have positive engagement in all 4 gears.
I moved all 3 rods equally, but reverse basically had to be put back where it was to start with, with an equal adjustment all the way around, the neutral gate went away for reverse.
Thanks again!
