Can anyone help?? how do you remove the speedo cable from the back of the speedo? I have had a look and it appears I might have to drop the steering column and the dash to get to the back of the speedo, and I cant feel a locking screw on the cable so I leaning towards a fixing clip holding the cable to the speedo. Is there an easier way or do I have to do battle with the dashboard gods to do it?

There is a clip at the rear of the speedometer that needs to be either pushed in or pulled out as you pull the cable out of the back. I cant remember which way the clip goes but i"m sure someone will remember and chime in.
I was able to remove mine with the dash in place but I did remove the seat so I could go under the dash further.

The cable has a female end, and is held on with a spring clip that stays
attached to the speedo head. You will need to push the clip away from
the cable to release the cable. You can snake your hand up in there from
underneath if you have small-ish hands. It's a pain, but can be done. I
have found it easier to remove the upper dash pad...it's a little more
work, but much easier on the hands, for me and my gorilla paws.
