My 72 has a 2 piece Speedo cable, but I saw some 1 piece replacements on the market. Is there any problem using a one piece, and why do they have 2 pieces anyway.
Thanks
Lonnie

You use 2 piece cables,if your car has cruise control,1 goes from the tranny to the cruise transducer, the other goes from the transducer to the speedometer,if you don't have cruise control, the 1 piece goes from the tranny, directly to the speedometer

72 would not have had cruize control...at least not from the factory.
You can use a single cable with no problems.

Check the condition of the gear inside the trans where the cable gets screwed into. You may want to consider changing it too. It's very easy, just make sure you match the color and number of teeth on the gear.
