If I press the spindles out to give myself some room to fix the e-brake, will it screw up the wheel bearings?

Can't answer your question about the spindle but I thought this you tube was helpful for me. I had a wheel lug break off and had to go in and remove the e-brake to change the lug. Didn't remove anything but the e-brake. Wondered how i was going to get the brake back on and saw this. Haven't done it yet but it's doable.  I was a jet acft/engine mechanic for 38 yrs so I'm use to working in these tight places. There's two parts to this u-tube and you'll see part 1 and 2 when you open it up. Good luck.

If you press the spindles out, you'll be pressing the outer bearing out of the spindle housing...taking the outer seal with it. It's impossible to get the seal back in the housing like that, so you will have to remove the bearing from the spindle to get the seal off. Depending on what kind of equipment you have, you may, or may NOT be able to get the outer bearing off of the spindle without damaging it. IF you can remove the bearing without damage, then you can replace the seal, and press it all back together.
Best bet is to plan on replacing the bearings and seals if you go this route, imho.Ouch
