How do I solve the squeaky clutch on my '78 L82? Where are the most logical lube points?

How do you mean squeeky? The only grease fitting is on the cross shaft, the tube that goes from the motor to the frame. There should be just a dab of grease where the clutch fork pivots on the ball inside the bell housing. You can get at that by pushing aside the rubber boot. A touch of oil on any other linkage pivot points won't hurt. Mike

Mike,

If you mean squeaky on the inside when you press the clutch pedal, it's waaayyy up in your dash, on the clutch pedal itself. There is a nylon bushing that goes over the clevis pin that is your pivot point for the clutch pedal.

The only way to lube this is to become a contortionist, or at least know one. I used to date this girl named Donna, she could bend her........sorry, back on subject. Get in under the dash, with a light, and a can of spray lube, press the pedal in, and hold it in, preferably with a rod, or someone's foot, and locate the pin.

Spray away...squeak gone.
Now as for Donna... |laugh|

Thanks,

As for Donna, that is a long story, best left for idle chat over some cold ones. |cheers| |laugh| |laugh|

I think there are songs about things like that. Although the name might not have been Donna.

I used to work with a guy at Chevrolet who always used to say "Geeze Louise" I asked him what's with Geeze Louise. He said "When I don't feel well or am having a bad time I go visit Louise to make me feel better, and "Geeze Louise!""

I don't know what happened to him, or Louise. |headscratch| |laugh| |laugh|
