looking at parts stores there doesn't seem to be a consensus if the cable should be 55, 69, or 73"
also, before I contort myself into a pretzel to check it out... is the speedometer end the push on connector or are both ends screw on?
that being said.. I am asking because my 1 piece tko-600 speedo cable is leaking (through the pressed on fitting, not the o-ring
im thinking of getting a stock style cable and a cable adapter instead of the one piece cable as replacing these cables is a pain in the ass. do you think the adapter is less likely to leak?
My '73 has a screw-on to the transmission and a push-on to the speedometer.

Ben, if you drain the oil out of the trans, the cable will stop leaking. It's simple physics....😂🤣
Iirc, the cable on my '74 was around 70 inches, but...it's been almost 30 years since I last replaced it, so....
Is the speedo fitting on your trans on the driver side or passenger side? Pass side needs a longer cable than driver side, just fyi. and yes, the fitting for the gauge is a quick connect/push on type.
I kinda like the idea of using an adaptor so you could source a "normal" speedo cable....that could be handy, and cheaper in the long run.

I ordered a 69" as the current is 55" and makes too tight of a turn IMO
I also ordered the fancier adapter from summit, has multiple seals and hopefully wont leak.
my 71 screws on to the trans, and pushes on to the speedo head it about 70 inchs to the right side of trans.
Where did you get the adapter? I have a M-22
I got the tko/tkx adapter from summit...
I kept my stock M-21 but I didnt like dumping the clutch so hard all the time in first so I am running a tko-600 and have the m-21 on a shelf.
I have the .64 OD model... car runs about 1800 rpm at 70 mph
