What parts are needed to swap from a '68 Automatic tranny to a '68 manual 4-speed?

Tough job?

Whew,Your gonna need a flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, throw out bearing, and arm, bell housing, tranny and shifter.I would put in a hydraulic slave cylinder and master cylinder instead of the stock clutch arm and linkage, its much simpler than the old stock system. You're probibly gonna have to change the drive shaft too.My question is why change to a standard? You can swap up to a better Turbo 350 or 400 easier, with the 400 you would get overdrive, with a good shift kit it will bang through the gears just like a standard. and you can get a kit to convert your floor console shifter to the new pattern. This is only my opinion,I'm an old truck driver,I do enough shifting all week, when I get in my 78,I put it in drive and go,most of the vettes out there are autos. Good luck which ever way you go we're out here to help whenever we can . Ron 78 |hammer| |thumb| |wavey|
