What are the gear positions at the trans lever starting from front to back as I move the lever manually?

Depends on if your lever points up or down.
If it points down, all the way to the front is Park, all the way to the rear is Low.
If it points UP, it is just the opposite.

Joel is right, and you can confirm you got it right.  Push the lever all the way forward, and try to turn the output shaft.  If it turns, you are in low, and the other direction is park.

Excuse my ignorrance, but what do you mean by "points up or down"?
Excuse my ignorrance, but what do you mean by "points up or down"?
There is a "lever" on the side of the trans that the shifter cable connects to. When this lever is moved fwd or rearward, it moves the internal linkage in the trans, which is attached to the manual valve of the valve body, as well as the parking linkage. If the lever points "UP', or is on top of the shifter shaft, the internal linkage moves one way, in regards to "Park" or "Low" gear. If it is pointed down, or below the shift shaft, it moves it the opposite direction.
More confused now?

Crystal clear now. Never saw a shifter that had Park toward the rear. Is that a rarity?
