Welcome to the forum.
What's a 5.3 L88?
1973 L-82 4 spd
Most 6-speed transmissions are a LOT bigger than a 4-speed. You'd probably have to cut away half of your floor. . .
the 5.3 is out of a 2015 Silverado with only 20k miles and the L83 just indicates an ecotech motor. Stock motor has around 350 hp and a mild cam upgrade should give it 380+. I'm building a driver just to see if I can. No special purpose, not interested in quarter mile times, just something to cruise around in so 20+ mpg sounds good. I'm doing a frame off restoration, frame is cleaned and painted and now trying to put together a running chassis before I mount the body.
In post I've read, the TKO fits with no mod to floor and silversport makes a kit to put their T56 magnum 6spd in without floor mod. Problem is the $5 grand so I'm trying to see if someone has done this on a budget. The only thing I see different in the TR6060 and T56 Magnum is they have changed the tail shaft but not sure why.
I installed a Tremec TKO600 5-speed in my '69 using the Silver Sport kit. No floor cutting required.
