Hey everyone i'm a fairly new member and this is my first question, I recently bought a spotless '72 automatic frame to replace the rusted out frame on my '69 4-speed, whats required to mount my trans to the removeable crossmember

I have an 80-82 frame (automatic) on (or I should say, under) my 71 w/4 speed. All you will need is the rear manual transmission mount. It will bolt right up to the crossmember. Wink

Thanks for the info I had heard that (from not so credible sources) but it sounded too good to be true. Now I just need to find another crossmember, the one included with the frame is bent in such a way that it couldnt be from the same car. I bought one on e-bay a while back but it never got to me.

 The trans mount bolts up fine up top but what about the two lower/ side bolts the auto cross member doesn't have  do i cut off an old one and have it welded on (to my already powder coated crossmember) or is this part available seperately?

IF you are talking about the two bolts on either side of the trans mount bracket that bolts onto the four speed x-member, you really don't need them. The bracket that is welded on the auto x-member is fine.
The reason the 4spd has a removable bracket is so the trans can be removed. The auto x-member bolts in, so the removable trans bracket is not needed.

my 4 speed frame (welded crossmember) has the bracket welded to the bottom of it . The bolt-in crossmember I have for the auto frame has no bracket at all.

You do need to fasten the bracket more securely than just the two bolts from the top.  Replacement crossmembers are avilable for less than $300.00 new, or we have a used one for $200.00 with the bottom tabs on it.

 wow this is gettin really confusing, I think what i'll do is get some pictures posted of what I'm working with and see what everyone thinks  thanks for the replies

 I have seen some cross members welded in and some bolted in , can some body why tell me why mine is welded?
