Vette(s): 75 white on tan, t-top, 4 speed soon to be 75 bright blue on tan
Is it possible to put a modern 6 speed tranny in a 75?  I drive 100 miles round trip a day highway and anything above 70 in 4th is over 3k pushn 3500.  If I have to step on it a bit then forget about it.  I was having some fun with a new vette on the highway the other day, i hit 120 in 4th of coarse and I was pushn red line, hell i was all about red line.  Any good answers are thanked in advance as well as letting me know if it can be done what modifications if any need to be done also.
Thanks
Mike

Far as I know Mike, there is a 5 spd out there that'll go right in, in kit form (Tremec). The 6 spd however is larger with a different shifter location and at this time would be a major engineering feat to rework the tunnel and the console.I'd call that, not really feasible, sorry. aceinthehole2007-07-01 13:37:09

Thanks I really appreciate it.  Even a fith gear would help at this point to drop the rpms a bit.  I know that these cars aren't fuel ecnonomy at its finest but every little bit helps when you drive as much as I do.  I have to fill her up every 2 to 2 1/2 days Cry that hurts the wallet.
Thanks again
Mike

Gotta commend you on making the car a daily driver Mike.  Good luck with the changeover.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
