Topic: What is under the cover plate?

I replaced the broken speedo cable on my '78 L-82 w/auto trans, and saw this cover plate on the side next to the speedometer gear. Does anyone know if there is something needing service inside? THANKS!

That be the governor cover on a 350, Joe. Nothing in there you need to worry aboot unless you are having a shifting issue.
