Hey, what the heck is a Z310 transmission. Buddy of mine has a 1976, L-82 that has a tag on the passenger side of his transmission that says Z 310. He just got the car and is starting to go through things. First thing I noticed was that the drivers side almost to the end of the pan has what looks like an electrical flat blade connector. No wire hooked to it though. The pan and mod valve location makes it look like a 400 to me but, the tag threw me off. Any ideas on this one guys?

Itza 400, Vincent. The info you see on that tag is a production date, most likely. If the tag still has any blue left on it, it should also say Hydramatic Division, and possibly M40.
The electrical connector is for the kickdown solenoid(passing gear). It may have one, or two terminals on it. The ones with two terminals have them arranged in a "T" shape...one horizontal, and one vertical.

Thanks a lot for the info Adam. I thought it might be a 400 but, the tag threw me off. Glad that one is solved...
