I drove my 82 to another persons house when I got in to leave I had no electrical power. did some looking checked fuses and power suddenly resumed. Started the car pulled out of the drive it seemed to have very little power then died and again no power. brought it home on the trailer. Checked battery = good, power to starter = good, power on far side of fuse links = good, power to bot sides of alternator = good but no power to fuse box. No lights, horn, guages, etc.

Just dropped the steering column and removed the ignition switch. Disconnected plugs and checked all wires for power = none

Red wires at terminals 2E & 2F at the ignition switch come from the battery(at the starter solenoid connection), thru three separate fuse links. These two terminals power everything that is controlled thru the ignition switch, and parts of the fuse box. You must have a blown fuse link, or some other break in the red wire(s). Are you using a test light, or multimeter to check the fuse links?
