Vette(s): 1980 corvette, very modified. Right hand drive done by myself.
Good onya mate for doing something different!! There are a couple of C3's over here that have done near enough the same as you, one guy has french polish style stainless almost exactly the same, he did his a couple of years back.
I have a question for those people that seem to be having a go at (sporg), Why are you guys jumping down sporgs throat, when all he wanted to know, was if anyone has done something different to there interiors like myself and groovyjay.

I dont think theres anything wrong with wanting to personalize your Vette,or anything you have, but do call C3 interiors cheap garbage on a site dedicated to guys that like C3's,and may want to keep them original,or not,is kind of "short-sighted" to put it nicely, dont you? |idea|

I wouldn't go so far to call it short-sighted. It's just my opinion, as a Corvette owner, that the C3 interiors could be much better than they were from the factory. I don't see anyone complaining about yanking the smog-350 out of it and replacing it with a nicely built 383 and chopping out the automatic and replacing it with a nice 6-speed. =)

Vette(s): 1969 Daytona Yellow Coupe - ZZ4/4 speed, Hurst shifter, Griffin aluminum radiator w/ Dual Spals, March Serpentine Pulley kit, Hookers with STS Racing Baffles, VB&P Suspension bits, 17" AR Hopsters, L-88 Hood
Thats the beauty of a forum like this...everyone is entitled to their opinion. In this case, I have to agree with C3RVETTE. Part of the appeal of C3's to me is the old look, feel and smell of the interior. Mine's 100% original down to the carpets and I wouldn't have is any other way. |toungecool|

Vette(s): 1977 , red with black stripe on hood, T-Tops,
Why do people buy classic cars and try to make them like the new ones..just buy a new one. The interior is sure different, but if you wanted a honda inside, why not just buy a honda. I know some of you will get what im saying while some won't. I bought a C3 because i wanted a C3. You can keep the new honda look , I'll stay with the real deal. |hammer|

OH.I'm for a "democratic",opinion sharing, forum where Vette owners can express opinions, but you have to be somewhat tactful possibly in the way you present them to people who may not agree at 1st,or at all.Mainly,I use the forums I visit for tech tips, and see what people have done with their Vettes, but I dont start off by insulting the people there who appreciate their "stock" cars for what they are,or they wouldnt own them in the first place.OK,I'm getting down of my small soap box now |biggrin| |thumb| Does that answer your question, Flamed Mate? |toungecool| Right on! Dodge!

Yes that does answer my question, you are dead right he could have been more tactfull in his question. But obviously that is how sporg talks, and me personaly his first thread did not offend me in the slightist. But when people who aren't interested in modifing the interior of there car have a go at someone who obviously is, why don't they just take as it is (an opinion) and leave it at that.
As for Dodges reply, I didn't realise I made my dash look like a Honda dash and if you think it does well you stick with that comment,as I said in an earlier post I love the looks of a C3 but don't like the interior of a stock C3 so what, some do and some don't, big deal.
I think it would be a good idea if Adam had a seperate forum for those of us who like hotrodding ther cars, don't you?? |cheers|

"I" never said your car looked like a Honda! |headscratch| |eek| I dont think Dodge said that either. And I like some Hondas, and I like most of your Vette. Now you're gettin' off kilter.I dont care if you wanted to make it look like a Honda.Just dont say the unchanged Vettes look like cheap garbage |no-no| |saluteflag|
