Topic: Headlight assembly pivot bearings
in Forum: C3 Electrical, Body and Interior
Okay........After eighteen years of blissful (yea right!) ownership, my headlights have started bouncing up and down due to the loose pivot bearings... People in front of me are getting a great show when driving at night. Question is.....How do you access those boogers for replacement? Anybody here had the pleasure of tackling these gems? I'm all ears!
Thanks,

When I did mine, I removed the whole assembly.
You remove 3 bolts at the top of the assembly, where it bolts to the underside of the hood surround. A 1/2 in. socket, I believe, swivel adapter, and a long extention will get the job done for you.
Good luck
Alan
Thanks for the input. I haven't been able to take a look yet, but was planning on doing it this weekend. Sounds like this is gonna be fun!
Thanks again,

Reid,
I did it this way, because it looked like the easiest way to access the pivots. Also, I freshend up the nylon bushings, and cleaned and lubed everything up, so it all works flawlessly.
The lights worked great, until I tore the whole car apart.
Have fun
Alan
