I recently bought a 75 Vette, and while the body and frame are in great shape, the electrics had been hacked to death.
There was no wiper switch, so while waiting on a new one, I wired two of the contacts to a switch, and the wipers ran on high speed.
Now I have the new switch, but the only way the wipers will operate is when I hold down the "wash" button. No matter how I wired it, that is the only way it would run. I tried my old temporary switch again, but the wipers would no longer run like they would (at high speed).
Do I have a bad motor control, or ???
You guys have been great with my questions so far!

The wiper switch HAS to be grounded to work, so first make sure it is grounded. It normally grounds thru the cluster panel, but a lot of times the screws that hold the panel to the dash just don't make good contact. A lot of folks will run a ground wire(with an eyelet terminal) from the dash up to the switch just to have a good ground.

I checked and it is grounded -- I added a ground just to make sure, but it still does not work.
Any other ideas?

I'll email you one test chart to check out. I can also send you wiring diagrams if needed.
