My 1968 C3's battery will not hold a charge.  Battery is new and alternator checks out good.  Could it possibly be a bad voltage regulator?  Gauge shows that it is not charging.

What voltage is the alternator putting out with the engine running? If the battery is not fully charged, it should be putting out 14+ volts.

Sounds like a bad diode. Charging, but draining back through the alternator. Charge the battery to 14.2, then disconnect it. If it holds while disconnected, you have a drain in the system.
