The new battery on my 1968 Vette will not charge.  Alternator checks out fine.  Any ideas on where I can begin to look to find the issue?  Thanks!

Have you checked the voltage at the battery to see if it increases after you start the car? If the voltage regulator and alternator are functioning properly, it should jump up a volt or two. How much depends on the state of the battery charge.

Does the amp gauge show a positive reading or not? The older cars run the charging voltage thru the gauge from the alternator. If the gauge is not working right, or is defective, the battery will not charge.

Check voltage(engine running) at the rear of the alternator, then at the horn relay on the driver side inner fenderwell, and finally at the battery. If you have 14+ volts at the alt, and horn relay, but not at the battery, I'd be looking at the gauge.
