ok i'm trying to help a friend get his alarm system up and running. i found a bunch of things wrong with it and fixt them to the point of getting him an alarm, but it is not using the factory horn but one i put in using saddle connectors to mount a horn in the jack compartment by the alarm relays. he would like to get the factory horn working but we need to get the location so 1. i can make sure it is there. 2. make sure the wires still work. 3. make sure the horn is is functional.
i jsut put in a regular relay and then after some research discovered the original one is latching so i may go back in and sdd a wire to ground to make mine latch now it is not. that is easy enough but the improtant thing is to find the horn and replace it or repair it so he has it original. he is always talking about matching numbers! one corvette site seems to now have any 70 vette people because the one person that has replied has a 73 and said his horn is under a fender? this may be also but if it is i have not seen the compartment yet. so maybe a picture will help. thanks bob p

I'm not positive about the 70 model, but in the 76 the alarm horn is under the fender, the rear driver's side fender... kinda tucked up in there, so get your flashlight out and give a looksee.... if i recall its not very long, and it looks very much like the regular car horn under the hood...

Yup, they are under the radio antenna inside the fender. Need to remove exhaust muffler to access it.
