When i bought my 77 a couple months ago my brake lights, running lights, turn signals, head lights, reverse lights all worked. I moved to North Carolina and had it brought down on a flat bed. since the move I've been having electrical issues. now the turn signals don't work(won't flash at all and no light comes on at all), My running lights come on when i press the brake pedal, and when i connect the negative battery terminal my overhead dome light comes on as well at the floor light down by my feet. I replaced the 552 flasher on the fuse box and now the hazard lights come on and won't shut off until i turn the car off. Any suggestions?

Vette(s): 1977 L-82 originally white/buckskin interior. Currently undergoing a frame-off resto. and modifications.YEEHAW!!!
Sounds like a broken wire, most likely a ground wire. These are a PITA, because the best way is to refer to your assembly manual, or a detailed wiring diagram, and trace every single wire from point to point.

Ya...this one might get ugly before it's over with.....Ouch

First thing tho...make SURE your hazard switch is not in the "On" position. From the description, that may be the issue.
As far as the dome/courtesy lights coming on when you connect the battery, they'll do that if the door is open, OR if the headlight switch is turned all the way to the right(or is it the left?)...but I guess you prolly know that...just sayin.....

Gotta start somewhere, so start with the simple stuff first. Thumbs Up

I had a very similar problem with my 77 early on. The culprit was the light socket on the passenger side rear tail light. I wish it was as easy to find as it was to fix, my local Chevy dealership even had one on the shelf. Good luck and above all, don't give up!
