Hey Guys,

Finished up the EFI installation and one more thing I have to do is hook up my factory tach.  When I hook it up to the terminal on the MSD box it just goes to 0, so I was reading a little bit and saw that there may be an inline filter on the tach that has to be bypassed.  Anybody come across this before and where's the filter if there is one on our tachs.

Thanks.

I just replaced the filter on 76 last night. I had problems with my tach acting erratic after driving for a short while. The filter connects in series between the tack and the distributor. I don't know if the MSD will require one or not. I have a Mallory distributor in mine. Here is a link to one, but you will need the plastic housings for the terminals. Its about $53 plus shipping.

Thanks that helps.  Where was the filter located at on your '76?  I'll try and get under there and follow the wire, but having a general idea of where its at would help a lot.  I hate driving around without a functional tach... don't know why... but it really bothers me.

It mounted on the left side of the intake manifold between the distributor and carb. You will see a tapped hole on the manifold where it mounts.
