Well I got into the back end of the Vette the past month or so and wondering if anyone actually used the alarm.

The whole alarm system is hacked in the car. Door switches corroded and wires breaking off, switch on tail end panel missing and glassed over, and best of all the seriously funny horn in the wheelwell is missing.

Since I'm replacing the rear wiring harness next, and maybe get this to work again,  I'll ask if anyone has the horn.

Maybe too expensive since its a driver. But while I'm in there........

For a non-NCRS car, I wouldn't fool with it.

Ditto, Mine is scattered in many areas. If ya can't see it, and it doesn't work, don't bother with it.

On my '79, I don't think the alarm worked except for maybe the first few years of it's life.

Wasn't worth fixing, in my opinion.

But maybe while you're already at other electrical stuff it might be worth it.

Can't really offer you any advice on how to go about it, though.

Good luck!

Years ago I fixed mine on the 1973. I thought it would help lower my insurance but they said unless it disabled the ignition it didn’t mater.
I did not have to do a lot. I replaced the horn with one from Autozone (or maybe it was Murray’s)

I replaced the switches in the door area. The rest seem to work. I hardly ever remember to turn it on. I use to when I would be on a road trip and staying at a hotel.

Was it worth it? Probably not but I waist a lot of time and money fixing thinks just because of the “while I’m at it” kicks in.

Save your money, put a five or six speed in it.
