I have a couple of questions on the metal tail light housings on my 72.
  1. Upon removing the housings I broke a few of the studs that hold them onto the body, are they replaceable - where can I get them?
  2. Same with the bulb sockets, they look pressed in, can they be replaced seperately?  Also need a source for new "pigtails" vs. replacing entire rear harness.

The housings also seem to be painted silver with some overspray of body color on the lens facing side.  Used housings on ebay seem to have the same paint on them, was this normal from the factory, or is this another result of the previous owner not knowing what masking tape is for!?

The housings cleaned up nicely with some paint remover on the painted side and sandblasting on the rusted side so I'd prefer reusing vs. spending $60 apiece for new repros.

Thanks,

Mario

The only reason for there being any body color paint on the housings is the car was painted with them on the car.
Not sure about the stud replacement, or the sockets being removable...I don't think they are, but I been wrong before.
As for new pig-tails, I would suggest checkin with 'Lectric Limited.....if anyone has them, they would. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the lead on the leads!  While taking out the rest of the housings all but one stud broke off so I broke down and bought all new housings!  I'm sure someone can figure out how to remove and replace the studs but I have plenty of other work to do!
