The last 3 times I drove my 72 vert I noticed that when I turn the turnsignals on they dont blink until I have driven a few miles. I drove it tonight and they didnt work for the first 3 or so miles then they started to work. When I got home they were working and I parked it in the driveway. Went back out about an hour later to pull it inside and no turn signals again. Im guessing a ground problem as when I backed it inside they didnt blink. I got out and checked the lens with the switch on and no lights. I do have 4 way flashers thou and that makes me wonder if it could be a ground. Maybe I should change out the flasher? Your thoughts?

Rodney, if NONE of the turn sig lamps come on at all when you hit the switch, I'd bet the flasher is goin on vacation. A bad ground won't normally effect both sides, especially if the hazard lights work when the turn sigs don't. Do the braking lights work when the turn sigs don't? If the brake, and hazard lights come on when they're s'posed to, I'd go right to the turn sig flasher. Thumbs Up

Joel, thanks for the reply. I actually went out and bought a flasher today because as I was writing the post i was changing my mind from the ground to the flasher. It might sound as thou im lazy but I really didnt/dont want to spend time trouble shooting. I also dont want to crawl under the passenger side dash and change out the flasher! If I remember its just behind the pocket area. I remember when this type of problem was challenging and fun but now its a pain in the, well you know. I will try the flasher later this week when I can pull the car back outside and crawl under the dash.

Pulled the flasher tonight and replaced it. Looks like it may have been the problem as they worked great and they blink a little faster. That flasher was only 4 years old. Only has 4000 miles on it. They just dont make em like they used to.

Ouch  The Blinkin stuff from R.O.C. ain't worf a tinkers stink. I had a brake light switch, well several of them that din't amount to beans. Bought one from the GM dealer and all's well. No more problems.
