Vette(s): 1977 USA VETT... I am a Navy Vet and bought this car from a guy that's in the Army. He started the USA theme on this previously yellow yard decoration that he found. Now it is my turn to add to this tribute to Country and those that defend her.
My front lights work fine but no back lights. I do have break lights. My fuse is good, power to the fuse. I'm not finding where the brown wire from the switch goes next... Better yet, if I knew where the brown wire from the rearend enters the corkpit I could hook power to it to isolate my problem. It is definitely a front half, back half problem... just don't know where the back half starts.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi David, I haven't been there yet on my cars so I don't have any answers off the top of my head. A few years back a couple of members were offering to email complete schematics of any year on request, if that offer is still available, it would be posted in the archives in the forums column in the upper left corner. You can click your way into all kinds of info from the drop down menu (community forums), of course you may have already been there. I'll take a peek and see if I can turn anything up. In the mean time, maybe someone with this info may chime in.

Look in the rear compartment, all the way in the back, on the driver side, towards the floor. That's where the harness goes thru the bulkhead. You'll find a connector there, I believe....

I was just getting ready to go look back there but wanted to check messages first...
If nothing else, I'm learning about my Vette!!

Starting to think this guy built this car with the intentions of putting it on a shelf under glass... Pretty nice job of making it look good, too bad screws are missing and things are running all over the place getting pinched.
We'll get it right though!
Thanks Joel, I'll let you know what I find.

That's what I was thinking to begin with but kinda went away from that because there's three grounds for the back and only one for the front... chances for all three being bad....? I just want to find this wire so I can jump it all the way to the back to see what happens.
Thanks...
Cool taking everything apart though. Finding all kinds of things to keep me busy... who needs lights when there's no seats, center console, dash...
Learning curve I guess!
Thanks again,
David

Well... Can we all say Bozo at the same time? Maybe even throw in a quick Dip-Shiiiit!
The guy that had the car before me had put in a new carpet and seats... guess what he "HACKED" through when cutting the hole in the carpet? That's right! There's a bundle of wires (7 wires) that runs along the floor just inside the door. He had cut through four of them and sliced into a couple of the others, which is why I had brake lights but nothing else.
I did find the disconnect I was looking for. Under the dash, way up high.
Thanks for all the replys...
Now it is on to some of the other little fixes this guy has done... More posts to follow, I'm sure!!
(On a side note... how do I get my picture added to my posts?)
